Closed Beta Test - Patch Notes

With the Closed Beta Test kicking off, we’ve made a few balance changes and bug fixes so you get the most out of your time on the battlefield. Which units have been affected? Read on to find out!

These might seem light, as there are a lot of balance changes and fixes in the pipeline but not all have made it yet. We are working hard on these and testing them internally before having them tested by yourselves, so we'll be sharing a lot more soon!

Units

Following our reports gathered from recent playtests, we found that spear units, and commanders that relied heavily on them were beginning to struggle to compete, especially in the high tiers. We've made adjustments to the core Greek Hoplite Phalanx, to give it more manoeuvrability and damage, whilst increasing the attack, defence and hit points of spear units. The unit stat adjustments are smaller in the lower tiers, and more substantial in the high.

Unit Ability Changes:

  • Hoplite Phalanx:
    - Speed increased to 0.35 from 0.25
    - Base Melee damage increased to 1.5 from 1.2

  • Spear brothers:
    - Melee Attack increased to 74 from 64
    - Melee Defence increased to 64 from 61
    - Hit points increased to 226 from 216
  • Agema Spears:
    - Melee Attack increased to 96 from 88
    - Melee Defence increased to 76 from 72
    - Hit points increased to 297 from 284
  • Archaic Hoplites:
    - Melee Attack increased to 65 from 64
    - Melee Defence increased to 50 from 48
    - Hit points increased to 199 from 190
  • Athenian Hoplites
    - Melee Attack increased to 74 from 68
    - Melee Defence increased to 57 from 55
    - Hit points increased to 226 from 216
  • Foot Companions:
    - Melee Attack increased to 88 from 81
    - Melee Defence increased to 70 from 67
    - Hit points increased to 273 from 261
  • Hypaspists:
    - Melee Attack increased to 111 from 101
    - Melee Defence increased to 96 from 92
    - Hit points increased to 339 from 324
  • Macedonian Hoplites:
    - Melee Attack increased to 80 from 73
    - Melee Defence increased to 63 from 61
    - Hit points increased to 250 from 239
  • Mycenaean Hoplites:
    - Melee Attack increased to 63 from 62
    - Melee Defence increased to 49 from 47
    - Hit points increased to 190 from 181
  • Myrmidons:
    - Melee Attack increased to 111 from 102
    - Melee Defence increased to 99 from 95
    - Hit points increased to 314 from 301
  • Spartan Hoplites:
    - Melee Attack increased to 90 from 83
    - Melee Defence increased to 71 from 68
    - Hit points increased to 273 from 261
  • Telesillas Argives:
    - Melee Attack increased to 78 from 72
    - Melee Defence increased to 58 from 56
    - Hit points increased to 226 from 216
  • Thorax Spearmen:

    - Hit points increased to 250 from 239
  • Royal Spartans:
    - Melee Attack increased to 116 from 106

    - Hit points increased to 357 from 342
  • Sacred Band:
    - Melee Attack increased to 104 from 95
    - Melee Defence increased to 82 from 78
    - Hit points increased to 321 from 307
  • Theban Hoplites:
    - Melee Attack increased to 68 from 65
    - Melee Defence increased to 53 from 50
    - Hit points increased to 208 from 199
  • Triarii:
    - Melee Attack increased to 88 from 81
    - Melee Defence increased to 92 from 88
    - Hit points increased to 303 from 290


Bug Fixes

A new update means more bug fixes, here are a few of the most significant ones:

  • Premium game time prices have been reduced for the Closed Beta launch!
  • Tool-tips should no longer become stuck to the mouse cursor in the front end
  • Fixed an issue where the battle user interface would not be displayed after the battle deployment phase
  • Units are no longer able to multiple Javelin/Pila volley's while positioned on ledges
  • Units are no longer able to continue targeting enemies indefinitely when positioned on ledges
  • Units will now recover from routing whilst inside their own capture circle
  • The central tower on Salernum will now give lines on sight for the correct location
  • Moved Friendly Fire notification to prevent covering the base capture bars
  • Switching Commanders with a full squad will no longer cause a "Profile out of Sync" message when matchmaking
  • Wardogs' consumables will not go into negative figures anymore
